Survivors include her 3 children: Judith Burnett of Cedar Rapids, IA., Jean Davidsaver of Bellevue, IA. and Rick (Audrey) Biere of Wauwatosa,WI., 3 grandchildren: Kelly (Garret) Karns of Cedar Rapids, IA., Sondra (Brian) Ashmore of Tucson, AZ., and Megan (Louis) Macan of Great Britain, 2 great grandchildren: Drake and Dane Ashmore both of Tucson, AZ., and a brother, Louis (Mary Jane) Freese of Monticello. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Grace Freese, her husband Raymond Biere in 1986, one granddaughter, Dana (William) Lipsky in 2006, one brother, Alva Freese, 4 sisters: Bernice Edwards, Ella Schwartz, Annette Walton and Evalena Helgens and 2 son-in-laws: Jack Burnett and Nicholas Davidsaver. Irene, 87, of Dubuque, Iowa and formerly of Anamosa died Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at Luther Manor in Dubuque, Iowa after a lengthy illness. Irene was born November 11, 1919 in rural Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of John and Grace (Folkers) Freese. She married Raymond F. Biere on November 13, 1940 in rural Monticello, Iowa. Together they farmed in Cedar and Jones Counties for many years before retiring to Anamosa. Irene was member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Anamosa. The family would like to thank Bethany Home of Dubuque, Luther Manor of Dubuque and Hospice of Dubuque for their special care.
