Bud was born April 21, 1928 in Hopkinton, the son of Nicholas and Rosena (Atkinson) Wilgenbusch. He married Darlene McNamara on August 21, 1949 in Sand Springs, IA. They later divorced. He lived with the Paul and Rose Britt family until 1974 when, in October of that year he married Martha Lovingood in Buck Creek, IA. She died in 1996 . Bud worked for several area farmers and then was employed as a meat cutter at the Wilson Packing Company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He then worked as a self-employed carpenter for a number of years. Along with his wife Martha, they ran the Trading Post in Buck Creek, south of Delhi, and in 1979 ran the Kangaroo II Store in Manchester until 1985. He loved nature, plants, flowers and gardening. He enjoyed playing cards, garage sales and visiting and helping other people. He and his wife Martha raised miniature dachshunds. Bud never met a stranger. He was very close to his sisters and their families. Bud could fix just about anything and always had an easy quip and a grin. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Frank, John and Thomas, and sisters Mabel Guthrie, Viola Trumm, Myrtle Krogmann and Ethel Kenny.
