Mary M. Knepper, 84 of Dyersville, Iowa died Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Oak Crest Manor, Dyersville, Iowa. Mary was born August 2, 1927 in Dyersville, Iowa, the daughter of Ben and Helen (Steffen) Weber. She married Loras W. Knepper on May 20, 1947 in Dyersville, Iowa. Together they farmed near Farley until their retirement in 1983 when they moved to Dyersville. Mary enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, fishing and was an avid Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs fan. She was a kind person who was fond of animals, especially cats. For many years Mary drove for Project Concern. But most of all, Mary loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her children: Bernie (Jane), Don (Kim) both of Dyersville, Dave (Janet) of Barry, IL, Jeff (Diane) of New Vienna, Kevin (Sally) of Farley, Gary of Streamwood, IL, Beth Knepper of Yellow Springs, OH, Sue (Bob) Willenborg of Dyersville and Jane Knepper of Boone, IA, 2 daughters-in-law: Bev (Dick) Anstoetter of Farley and Bev Knepper of Dubuque, 21 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren, siblings: Jeanette Engler of MN, Betty Arthofer of Dubuque, in-laws: Herb Jasper, George (Alma) Knepper, Michael (Jean) Knepper, Gladys Knepper, Irene Recker, Helen Carroll, Joan (John) Anstoetter, and Ida (John) Trumm. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Loras in 1991, two sons, John and Doug, siblings: Rose (Leonard) Nebel, Helen Jasper, Ed (Helen) Weber, John (Phyllis) Weber, Opal (Bob) Ament, Donald Weber, in-laws: John Engler, Don Arthofer, Rosalyn (Edmond) Ludwig, Carl (Marie) Knepper, Walter (Mary) Knepper, Paul Knepper, Ernie Recker, Frank Carroll. Various memorials have been established in memory of Mary. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2012, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a vigil service will be held at 4 p.m. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate.
