Survivors include her daughter, Julie (Kenneth) Habel of Luxemburg, 7 grandchildren: Denise Habel, Joseph (Dawn) Habel, Jaime (Kris) Habel, David Meyers, Jean (Steve) McCusker, Tony Meyers and Tom Meyers, 6 great grandchildren and 1 sister, Marie Dunkel of Dyersville. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alex in 1987, one son Harold in 1973 and daughter-in-law Judy Meyers, one grandson, Donald Meyers, 3 brothers: Florian, Albert and Elmer Timmer, and 2 sisters, Viola Meyers and Alvina Oberbroeckling. Germaine was born on February 18, 1911 in Dyersville, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Josephine (Albang) Timmer. She married Alex A. Meyers on May 26, 1936 in Dyersville, Iowa. Together they farmed north of Luxemburg until their retirement in 1960 when they moved to the town of Luxemburg. Germaine was a homemaker and also worked at Ungs Shopping Center in Luxemburg and Holy Trinity school lunch. She loved to fish, play cards, travel and she especially loved to tend to her garden and flowers. Germaine also enjoyed taking walks with her dog Suzie and picking berries near Graham, Iowa.
