Victor was born on January 2, 1927 in Primrose Township, WI, the son of Melvin and Lily (Anderson) Jenson. He graduated from Mt. Horeb High School in Mt. Horeb, WI. He then attended Concordia College in Morehead, MN, the Platteville School of Mining, Platteville, WI, and earned his bachelors degree from the University of Missouri, Rolla, MO. He served his country in the U. S. Army during WW II in the Philippines. He married Christine Lunde on August 10, 1952 at the Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church in Mt. Horeb. He was employed as mining engineer for U.S. Gypsum in Blythe, CA, and as a mine inspector for Bituminous Causality in the Kansas City area. He worked for Badger Ordinance in Prairie Du Sac, WI, and as an aviation engineer for Sunstrand Aviation in Rockford, IL. He owned and operated the Coast to Coast store in La Porte City, IA and the Coast to Coast store in Monticello. After closing the store in Monticello he worked as a bus driver for the Monticello Community School System. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, the VFW post 1683, and the American Legion Post 209. He enjoyed collecting coins, fishing, wood working, traveling, and playing cards. Above all he loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Kris; his children Dana (Rachel) Jenson, Waterloo, IA, Beth Helmrichs, Garnavillo, IA, Ricka (Steve) Parkhurst, Gardner, KS, Aric (Leann), Monticello, and Adam (Lorri), Paola, KS; grandchildren Luke and Nick Jenson, Waterloo, Travis (Felicia) Helmrichs, Edgewood, IA, Jordan Helmrichs, Garnavillo, Sarisa Jenson, Iowa City, IA, Andrew and Nathan Jenson, Monticello, and Michelle Proethe, Olathe, KS and Justine Proethe, Paola; three great grandchildren; a sister Maxine Johnson, Mt. Horeb as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Luther, Roger and Vergene; and sisters June Doherty, Virginia Tschudy, Lavonn Herrington, and Marilyn and Carol Jenson. Memorials can be directed to Above and Beyond Hospice Care, Monticello, Jones Regional Health Center or to the donor's choice.
