Obituary of Jerome Edwin Besler

Survivors include his wife, Monica, one son, Donald of Hopkinton, IA, 2 sisters: Lila Mae (Joe) Sperfslage of Coggon, IA and Norma Rave of Manchester, IA, 2 brothers: Bob (Alice) Besler of Hopkinton, IA and Louis (Janice) Besler of Worthington, IA, a brother-in-law, Vernon (Mary Lee) Demmer of Dubuque and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Donald, a brother-in-law, John Rave and mother and father-in-law, Al and Margaret Demmer. Jerome was born on June 2, 1930 in Hopkinton, Iowa, the son of Edwin and Armella (Recker) Besler. He married Monica M. Demmer on August 27, 1952 in Worthington, Iowa. Together they lived and farmed near the Hopkinton area. Jerome also did carpentry work, drove truck for Sherlock Oil/ Farmer's oil Co. and was a Delaware County Supervisor for 8 years. a member of the Hopkinton Lions Club, Knights of Columbus Council 930 of Cascade and Knights of Columbus Dubourg Assembly 1573. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2008, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a parish scripture service will be held at 5 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7 p.m.
