Survivors include his wife, Charlene, his children: Dave (Donna) Riniker of Dubuque, IA, Carol (Allen) Loecke of Manchester, IA, Mary (Roger) Hogan, Jerome (Julie) Riniker, Randy (Judy) Riniker all of Luxemburg, IA, and Lori (Russ) Funke of Dyersville, 18 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, a brother Bernard (Rita) Riniker of Epworth, IA, brother and sisters-in-law: Meralda McGovern of Dubuque, IA, Yvonne Nauman and Merlin (Pat) Nauman both of Sherrill, IA, Bernice Riniker and Colletta Riniker both of Manchester, IA. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Jake, Art (Dorothy), Steve (Rose) and Andrew Riniker, 3 sisters: Rosina (Bill) Loney, Frances (Reynold) Steffen and Anna Riniker; and 2 brothers-in-law, Clem McGovern and Gerald Nauman Friends may call from 2 - 9 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2008, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a parish scripture service will be held at 5 p.m. and a VFW service at 7 p.m. Otto was born on October 16, 1927 in North Buena Vista, Iowa, the son of Louis J. and Margaret (Welty) Riniker. He married Charlene M. Nauman on January 24, 1951 in Sherrill, Iowa. Together they farmed near North Buena Vista and Luxemburg for 28 years retiring in 1985 to New Vienna. Otto had a great love for farming and the outdoors. He was a member of the St. Boniface Parish and its Holy Name Society, a life member of the Edward W. Lake VFW Post 7736, Catholic Order of Foresters Court 881, and the Knights of Columbus Council 4148.
