Obituary of Stella Marie Gaul

Survivors include her children: Marlene Koppes of Cascade, IA, Verna (Ray) Greenwood of Farley, IA, David (Carol) Gaul of Guttenberg and Donald Gaul of Luxemburg, IA, a son-in-law, (Bernie) Maiers of Holy Cross, IA, 23 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, sisters: Jean Battistello, Verna Rauen Miller, Jayne Dolan-Bosia and Jane De Bow, brothers, Jim McMahon and Pete Dolan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph in 1990 and a daughter Mary "Connie" Maiers in 2005 and brothers Elmer (Pat) and Merlin (Dick. Stella was born on April 6, 1919 in Farley, Iowa, the daughter of Alvin and Alvina (Wolf) Dolan. She married Joseph William Gaul on November 16, 1938 in Farley, Iowa. Together they farmed the Luxemburg area until their retirement. She loved the outdoors, baking, especially for her family, playing bingo at Oak Crest Manor and praying the Rosary for everyone. Stella was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and its Rosary Society. The family wishes to thank the staff at Oak Crest Manor for their wonderful care and concern. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2008, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a parish scripture service will be held at 4:00 p.m.
