Leon was born on July 20, 1934 in Petersburg, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Clara (Osterhaus) Bagge. He married Carol Anne Lansing on October 3, 1959 in New Vienna, Iowa. Leon was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His love for his grandchildren took him to Omaha many times over the years. In more recent years, "Papa" spent many days at the home-farm enjoying the kids. Over the years, he was a successful and passionate farmer who enjoyed the outdoors. He will be remembered by many as a kind and caring neighbor and friend who enjoyed giving of himself to those around him. Leon's hard working ethic continued on into retirement with several part-time positions. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
