Obituary of Dorothy Marie Klostermann

She is survived by her son, Loras (Debbie) of Dyersville, grand children: Kelly (Bret) Milbert, Nicholas and Elizabeth Klostermann all of Dyersville, great grandchild, Dylan Bradley Milbert, sisters-in-law, Ardella and Florine Klostermann both of Dyersville, Mary Ann Bockenstedt of Strawberry Point, IA, Elma Naber of Edgewood, IA, and Chris Klostermann living in MA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anna (Engelken) Kruse, her husband Arnold in 1988, brothers: Ed (Rita) Kruse, LaVern (Irene) Kruse, sisters: Irene (Leander) Bruggemann, Pearl (Fritz) Koopmann, Charlotte (Clarence) Bildstein, brothers-in-law, Harold Klostermann, Lawrence Klostermann, Ed Klostermann, Ray Klostermann and Elmer "Bud" Klostermann. Dorothy was born to Henry and Anna (Engelken) Kruse on April 25, 1923 in Petersburg, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Petersburg, where she met and married her life long friend Arnold Klostermann. They were united in marriage on October 23, 1945 at Ss. Peter & Paul. They were blessed with one child, a son, Loras. Dorothy and Arnold farmed together for 34 years. They semi-retired and moved to Dyersville in 1979. Arnold passed away in June of 1988. Dorothy's faith, family and friends were the center of her world. She took the Lords command to "Love thy neighbor" literally. She was a hard worker and volunteered for numerous organizations. She took great pride in her baking talents. Dorothy endured many hardships and heartaches along the way. But with a deep faith and a strong love she lived a happy and prosperous life - rich in family and friends/ The family would like memorials directed to St. Francis Xavier Basilica Haiti fund. Friends may call from 3 - 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a parish scripture service will be held at 4 p.m.
