Obituary of Frances Mary Heiderscheit

Survivors include her children: Mary (Richard) Berning of Cuba City, WI, Clarence (Edel) of Dyersville, Sr. Dorothy Heiderscheit, OSF of Dubuque, IA, Leon (Sandy) of Holy Cross, IA, Charles (Sara) of Osage, IA, Paul of Holy Cross, IA, Jeanne (Gary) Schmidt of Marion, IA, and Joan (Kevin) Althaus of Dubuque; daughters-in-law: Rose Heiderscheit of Balltown, IA, and Marlene Heiderscheit of Dubuque; 22 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and a sister, Mabel Wilgenbusch of Rickardsville, IA. She was preceded in death by her husband Matt in 1998, 2 sons: Allan in 1999 and George in 1973, and brothers: Aloysius, Leonard, Ray and Roy Pfeiler. Frances was born on August 7, 1913 in Rickardsville, Iowa, the daughter of George and Barbara (Schmitt) Pfeiler. She married Mathew G. Heiderscheit on February 18, 1936 in Rickardsville, Iowa. Together they spent their entire lives farming near Holy Cross until retiring in 1979. Frances was very dedicated to raising her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her faith gave her strength and comfort and was a source of inspiration for all who knew her. She was a member of the Holy Cross Rosary Society, a lifetime member of the Dubuque County Farm Bureau as well as an active member of the Dubuque County Farm Bureau Woman's Association. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2008, at Kramer Funeral Home in Holy Cross where a parish scripture service will be held at 2 p.m.
