She is survived by her husband, Kevin of Dyersville, 2 sons: Daniel (Cindy Klaren) and Nicholas Graves, both of Dyersville and a daughter, Felicity Ottesen of Dyersville, a grandson, Caydon Graves; her father, Robert Tompkins of Centerville, Iowa; 1 brother, Randy (Carol) Tompkins of Grandview, Iowa; 2 sisters: DeAnn (Martin) Torres of Hills, Iowa and Robin (Brad) Spurgeon of Centerville, Iowa; grandmother, Erma Plowman of Letts, Iowa; parents-in-law, Kenneth and Janet Ottesen of Decorah, Iowa, 3 sisters-in-law: Kimberly (Jim) Giardino of Ames, Iowa, Karen (Dan) Drake of Kansas City, Missouri, Kristi (Steve) Haynes of Spingfield, Missouri; several uncles, aunts, cousins and nieces and nephews. Angela is preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Tompkins, grandfather, Harlan Plowman, and grandparents, Rufus and Evelyn Tompkins. Angela Mae Tompkins was born May 26, 1961 in Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Plowman) Tompkins. She graduated from Columbus Junction High School in 1979.. On April 11, 1987, she married Kevin D. Ottesen in Columbus Junction, Iowa. Together they moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa where she earned her Medical Assistant and CNA Degrees at Iowa Central Community College. Angela and Kevin moved to Dyersville, Iowa in 2000, and became active with Mercy Medical Center and its Auxiliary. She will be fondly remembered as a good mother and wife by her family and as an active member of her church community. Angela M. Ottesen, 47, of Dyersville, Iowa, died Saturday, October 04, 2008, in the comfort of her family after a year long battle with a brain tumor. Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at the Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville and before the funeral service on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. October 8, 2008, at New Hope Lutheran Church in Farley. Rev. Burton Everist will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Dyersville, Iowa. Memorials are preferrred.
