Obituary of Alfred Joseph Klostermann

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine, children: Tom of Dyersville, Joyce (Ron) Peiffer of Marion, IA, 6 grandchildren: Chad, Kristin, Heather, Sean Klostermann, Erin and Brandon Peiffer, 1 great grandchild, Harmony Paul, daughters-in-law, Nancy Klostermann of Dubuque, and Roxanne Klostermann of Dyersville, 4 sisters: Rita Deutmeyer, Lila Clemen, Ruth (Joe) Lansing, Vera Kroeger all of Dyersville and a sister-in-law, Verna Klosterman. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons: Jim and Don Klostermann, brother, Art Klostermann and sister, Virginia in infancy. Alfie was born on March 3, 1932 in Dyersville, Iowa, the son of Alfred B. and Rosa (Olberding) Klostermann. He served in U.S. Army from 1954-56 serving in France during the Korean War. Alfie married Lorraine Weber on February 9, 1959 in Monti, Iowa. Together they farmed the family farm until their retirement in 1984. Alfie was a life time member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion Post 137, a member of the V.F.W. and the 40/8. Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2008, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a parish scripture service will be held at 4 p.m., the American Legion Post 137 and VFW will gather at 6:30 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m.
