Obituary of Daniel Joseph Foxen

Survivors include his siblings: Darlene Hogan of Dubuque, IA, Dennis (Kathy) Foxen of Dyersville, Duane (Nancy) Foxen of Jasper, IN, Diane Foxen and Lori (Brian) Wells both of Dyersville; nieces and nephews: Marcia (Matt) Fiegen, Bob (Andrea) Hogan, Andy Adriana) Foxen, Tony (Kristi) Foxen, Jeremy (Megan) Foxen, Michele (Jim) Schoenbachlers, Mary Foxen, Tracy (Jason) Stepanek, and Jesse (special friend Paula Fishcer) Wells; nine great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Daniel was born on September 29, 1949 in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Louis and Lucille (Neuhaus) Foxen. He graduated from Western Dubuque High School with the Class of 1968 and entered the US Army, serving his country in Vietnam until the end of the war. Upon his return, Dan worked various jobs including the City of Dyersville, River City Paving, Esser Sanitation and Iowa Pipeline. He was a member of the American Legion Post 137. Dan enjoyed walking and was often seen walking through town. He was always outdoors and was never afraid to offer a helping hand. Dan was an avid Cubs fan. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2008, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a parish scripture service will be held at 4:30 p.m. and an American Legion Service will be held at 7 p.m.
