Obituary of Lucille Catherine Reittinger

Surviving are four daughters: Doris (Ray) Reth of Manchester, Iowa, Patricia Steger of Dyersville, Iowa, Marilyn (Doug) Sharp of Des Moines, Iowa, and Debra (Lee) Mescher of Belle Plaine, Iowa; two sons: Richard (Rosemary) Reittinger of Dyersville, Iowa and Donald (Karen) Reittinger of Delaware, Iowa; 2 daughters-in-law: Luetta Reittinger of Dyersville, Iowa and Kim Cate of Houston, Tex.; 27 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great grandchildren; two sisters: Eileen (Leon) Wessels and Lorraine (Eldon) Gravel, both of Dyersville; two sisters-in-law Ula Roling of Earlville, Iowa and Elaine Roling of Dubuque. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil, in 1998, two sons: Roger in 1993 and David in 2007, a son-in-law, David Steger in 1995, a great-grandson, Chad Strief, seven brothers: Emil, Leonard, William, Cletus, Alvin, Merlyn and Tony Roling, and three sisters in infancy: Virginia, Mildred and Mary Roling. Lucille was born July 14, 1921 in Luxemburg, Iowa the daughter of William and Paulina (Roling) Roling. She married Emil H. Reittinger on August 19, 1940, in Farley, Iowa and was a mother and homemaker for Emil and their eight children. She also worked at Modernfold in Dyersville for ten and one half years and later was an independent newspaper carrier for the Telegraph Herald for seven years in Delaware and Dubuque counties.
