Joseph was a loving father survived by his daughter Donna Gardner of Buffalo, Wy. Sons: Gary (Karla) Green of Tacoma WA. and Brian (Kim) Green of Rochelle, Il . Grandchildren: Amy Gardner, Buffalo, Wy; Brian Green Tacoma, WA; Madison and Hana Green, Rochelle, IL; Seven step children: Maureen (Bob) Utter, Clear Lake, IA, Kathy (John Moander) Routh, Keokuk, IA, Terry (Millie) McDermott, Manhattan Beach, Calif, Dennis (Debbie) McDermott, Monticello, IA, Brian (Jan) McDermott, Ashland, Ore, Beth N'Diaye, San Antonio, TX, and Mark McDermott, Manhattan Beach, Calif. Joseph was preceded in death by his wife Betty, her daughter Julie Hillmer and her husband Bill Joe was born on February 26, 1926 in Cascade, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Stella "Dunn" Green. He married Betty McDermott on Oct. 8, 1993 at St. Martin's Chruch in Cascade. Joe worked many years as an automotive salesman in Dekalb, IL. After retirement he enjoyed golfing with Betty, traveling, volunteer work in Monticello city gardens and a good story. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 24th 2009 until time of service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello, Iowa. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 24th 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello, with burial in Cascade, Iowa at a later date. Officiating will be Rev. Keith Birch. Joseph E Green, 82, of Monticello, Iowa died Saturday, January17, 2009 at St Lukes Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, Iowa after an extended illness.
