Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann "Annie" , children: Dave Nachtmann of Cedar Rapids, IA, Cathy (Al) Demmer of Dyersville, Joe (Tracey) Nachtmann of Dubuque, IA, three grandchildren: Rachel, Austin "A.J.", and Trevor Demmer, two siblings: Margaret (Robert) Nefzger of Delaware, James (Linda) Nachtmann of Guttenburg, sisters and brothers-in-law: Ronald Palmer of Cedar Rapids, James (Norma) Wilhelm, Henry (Judy) Wilhelm, Tom (Judy) Wilhelm, Charles (Donna) Wilhelm all of Dyersville, and Jean (Gerald) Conrad of Bankston. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Kevin, one sister, Rita Palmer, sister-in-law, Mary Lou Nachtmann, a niece, JoAnn Nachtmann and parents-in-law: John & Lorine Wilhelm. Norbert was born on February 20, 1945 in Dyersville, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Martha (Hess) Nachtmann. He married Mary Ann Wilhelm on May 10, 1969, in Dyersville, Iowa. Norb owned and operated Norbert's Repair Shop for over 30 years primarily working on small engine repair. He was excellent at wood working and liked to tinker with everything; "if it didn't work, he had to fix it". Norb also enjoyed fishing and family vacations. His grandchildren were always "enjoyed", and never spoiled. Norb was a member of the Iowa Army National Guard in Dubuque and a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a parish scripture service will be held at 4 p.m.
