Andrew Joseph Dotterweich was born February 27, 1926, in Saint Meinrad, Indiana the son of Erhard and Mary Dotterweich. On November 24, 1950, Andy married Carlyn Sadler at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fillmore, Ia. Andy and Carlyn owned and operated A & C meat locker in Langworthy, Ia and later A & C Café in Monticello, Ia. He is a past member of Indiana American Legion Post 366, a lifetime die hard Atlanta Braves fan, an avid gardener and outdoorsman who loved to fish. One of Andy's and Carlyn's special pastimes is cracking walnuts for many to enjoy. Surviving are his wife, Carlyn; 5 daughters: JaneAnn Wilken of Granbury, Tx, Barb (Rick) Fagan of Onslow, Ia, Cindy (Kent) Behrends of Monticello, Ia, Susie (Gary) Fagan of Cascade,Ia, and Lois (Duane) Burkle of Dyersville,Ia, 2 sons: Robert (Lynn) Dotterweich and Ken Dotterweich both of Monticello, Ia. 25 Grandchildren: Mike (Stephanie) Wilken, Rebecca Wilken, Casey Wilken, Chris (Zac) Rinderknecht, Kelly (Aden) Jacobs, Jamie Mohr, Cory (Stacey) Mohr, Kim (Zach) Kray, Brian (Jaclyn) Fagan, Dan Fagan, Brett Fagan, Jennifer (Dan) Jacobs, Trevor (Jennifer) Haas, Tyson (Amelia) Haas, Jackie (Casey) Huston, Shelli and Nikki Fagan, Stephanie (Jeff) Then, Sarah (Curt) Honkomp, Shawna and Stacey Burkle, Nathan, Lauren, Lacie and William Dotterweich 26 great grandchildren One sister Joanna Gioscio of Indianapolis, Ind. and one sister in law, Helen Dotterweich of Otter Creek, Ia.. Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, 3 sisters and a son Paul at birth Andrew J. Dotterweich, 82, of Monticello, Iowa died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, at his residence with family at his side after a lengthy illness. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at the Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello where a parish scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello. Rev. Keith Birch will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery where military rites will be accorded by the Monticello Drill Team..
