Survivors include his parents, Robert and Alvina Greif of Monticello, IA, 2 brothers: Roger (Beth) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Donald (Deann) of Chico, CA, 1 sister, Barb (Keith) Kuhlengel of Palmyra, PA, 5 nieces and nephews: Adrienne & Trevor Kuhlengel, Lainie, Ryan and Marcus Greif, and many aunts, uncles, cousins. David was born on August 31, 1951 in Prairieburg, Iowa, the son of Robert and Alvina (Manternach) Greif. He graduated from Monticello High School in 1969. David currently worked for Fisher Controls (Emerson) in Marshalltown, IA. He was an avid farm-toy collector with a deep interest in Oliver Tractors. David enjoyed tractor pulling, tractorcade and tinkering with anything mechanical. David J. Greif, 57, of Marshalltown, IA, and formerly of Monticello, Iowa died Monday, March 3, 2009, at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center, Marshalltown, Iowa after a sudden illness. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2009, at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello, Iowa where a parish scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello, Iowa, with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Castle Grove, Iowa. Officiating will be Reverends Keith Birch and Neil Manternach.
