Obituary of Raymond George Ellerbach

Survivors include his niece, Betty (Joe) Weber with whom he lived with for many years, and their family, of Holy Cross, IA, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Francis (Rosemary) Ellerbach, sisters: Agatha (Emil) Roling, Loretta (Gebhard) Henkels, Marcella (Leonard) Roling, Alvina (Ray) Brimeyer and Emma (Clarence) Schultz. Ray was born on July 6, 1920 in Holy Cross, Iowa, the son of Leo and Sophia (Oberbroeckling) Ellerbach. He was raised in the Holy Cross area and was a farm hand throughout his lifetime. Ray enjoyed watching baseball games, going out to eat, visiting friends and relatives and being outside on the farm. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Holy Name Society. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2009, at Kramer Funeral Home in Holy Cross where a parish scripture service will be held at 4 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 22, 2009, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Holy Cross, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Raymond Burkle.
