Ann M. Richardson, 83, of Marion, Iowa and formerly of Coggon, IA, died Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, Iowa after a courageous battle with cancer. Survivors include 3 daughters: Marilyn (David) Hart of Robins, IA, Carol (Steve) McDonald of Monticello, IA, Pamela (Doug) Rahe of Marion, IA, 5 grandchildren: Samantha (Loras) Schaul, Troy (Shelby) McDonald , Sonya (Matt) Behrends, Dustin (Andrea) Rahe and Tiffany (Brian)McClintock. 4 great grandchildren: Hannah and Jake Behrends, Autumn McClintock and Marissa Rahe. 6 step great grandchildren: Mike, Derick, Shaun, Colin, Darin, and Corey McClintock and 4 sisters- in- law. Ann is the last of 10 siblings that preceded her in death to include her parents, her husband Merle in 1998, and 7 brothers: William, Jack, Hank, Fred, Clarence, Walt and Raymond. 2 sisters: Ella Steen and Theresa Bronemann. Ann was born on March 11, 1926 in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Gerhard and Anna G. Ehlts. Anna Marie married Merle Richardson on September 4, 1946 at SS. Peter & Paul Lutheran Church, rural Monticello, Iowa. Together they farmed in the Coggon area until their retirement in 1989 when they moved to Marion. Ann enjoyed dinner/dancing at Central City and Hiawatha Senior Meal Centers with very special friend Ed Marek of Marion. She also loved to travel, garden and furniture woodworking. Ann will be greatly missed by family and friends. Family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 14, 2009 at SS. Peter & Paul Lutheran Church, rural Monticello, Iowa with burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello Iowa. Officiating will be Rev. Paul Finger. Ann's family would like to express a special thank you to the St Lukes Hospice Home Care and Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa for the great care given to Ann and family.
