Obituary of Dorothy Lorraine Heid

Dorothy was born on June 5, 1918 in Cascade, Iowa, the daughter of Theodore and Mary Ann (Mensen) Althoff. She married Raymond Heid on February 21, 1938, in Cascade, Iowa. Together they farmed in the Worthington area until Ray preceded her in death in 1979. Dorothy moved to Dyersville in 1981. Dorothy had a wonderful appreciation of music and shared that with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Herbert (Elaine) of Dubuque, 2 grandchildren, Jeff Heid of Muscatine, IA, Laurie (Jeremy) Bushman of Dubuque, IA, three great grandchildren, Joe, Adam and Ella Bushman. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray in 1979, one daughter, Linda in 2001, 5 brothers, Andy, Frank, Raymond, Albert and Joseph Althoff, and two sisters, Frances Tucker and Alma Naderman. Friends may call from 3 - 7 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2009, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa where a parish scripture service will be held at 4 p.m. Friends may continue to call Saturday after 9 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 28, 2009 at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, Iowa with burial in St. Paul Cemetery, Worthington, Iowa. Officiating will be Rev. Phil Kruse.
