Obituary of Otto J. Mescher
DYERSVILLE, IOWA
Otto John Mescher was born and passed away on November 9, 2024, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, from an unexpected illness contracted in his 6th month of gestation.
A private funeral mass and burial will be offered on Friday, November 15, 2024, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and Cemetery in Dyersville.
Otto was known by few but loved immensely throughout all 24 weeks he was carried by his mother. His parents and brothers are thankful for joy shared in anticipation of his arrival. All counted Otto as family throughout his brief time. His soul is treasured still now as it had been and a void deeply felt.
Survivors include his parents: Jack and Karan (Sieverding) Mescher, his brothers: Richard (3) and Elmer (2) all of Graf, his Grandparents: Matt and Vicki Mescher of Dyersville, Amy Kruse of Dubuque, and Mark and Sherri Sieverding of Bellevue. His Great grandparents: Dick and Jean Mescher of Dyersville and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
We pray Otto is now enjoined in communion with those family and loved ones who died before him.
The family wishes to thank all those who have accompanied them during this difficult time. Further gratitude is extended to the care and service offered in support of Otto from the doctors and staff at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics along with those at Medical Associates in Dubuque.
Those feeling compelled to honor Otto John are invited to send memorials to Mary’s Inn, a maternity home in Dubuque dedicated to supporting pregnant women and their developing babies in need.
