Tyler Wolfe, 29, of Crestview, Florida, formerly of Dyersville, Iowa went to his heavenly home in the early morning on Wednesday, May 8th, 2024 due to complications of congestive heart failure.

Visitation will be held from 2 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa.  Visitation will continue from 9 – 10 a.m. at the funeral home prior to funeral mass.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024 at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial in the church cemetery.  Rev. Chris Podhajsky will officiate.

Tyler was born on September 6th, 1994 in Dubuque, Iowa.  Tyler was the oldest son of Greg and Cathy (Kramer) Wolfe.  He grew up in Dyersville, Iowa with his sister and brother.  He graduated from Beckman Catholic High School, in 2013.  He went on to study at The University of St Thomas in St Paul, MN majoring in Political Science.  He worked in hotel management in the St Paul area until moving to Crestview, FL in 2021. He was currently working at Brotula’s Seafood House and Steamer in Destin, FL.

Tyler was a great friend to many.  He tried to help others any way he could.  He could argue with the best and would always come out on the winning end.  He and Greg could not be in the same room and talk politics without an argument surely happening.  Tyler was a huge Minnesota Timberwolves fan, Iowa Hawkeye fan and also a diehard Vikings fan, often on the speaker phone with Greg and Justin while watching the games.  The three of them bonded over sports conversations and games.

Being stuck at home during covid had its positives.  Tyler returned home (after being away from Dyersville for 7 years) for a year after being diagnosed with congestive heart failure in 2019. Due to school being cancelled, Tyler and Nicole got to spend every day together.  After that time together, Nicole commented “I think Tyler finally sees me as an adult and him being home was the greatest blessing”. They bonded over their favorite TV shows, board games, cooking, and current political events.

Tyler enjoyed hanging with his friends in the Florida sunshine.  Playing “office” trivia, going to crawfish boils, going to the beach, listening to live bands especially country cover artist, tubing, karaoke nights, Wednesday game nights and he also loved to cook especially grilling out.  He also loved his “low sodium” foods – skittles, starburst and sour patch kids.

Through all his struggles earlier in life, he clung to his family and faith.

Tyler is survived by his parents, Greg and Cathy, brother, Justin (25) and sister, Nicole (22).  He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Norma Wolfe of Manchester, Iowa (formerly of Epworth).  He is also survived by his Godson, Sullivan Wolfe, Godmother, Linda Lawson, Godfather, Jeremy Wolfe and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Tyler was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Gerald Wolfe, maternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Kramer, uncle Steven Kramer, and two cousins, Bethany Lawson and Margaret Wolfe.

A special thank you to Captain Corey Tuegel of the Dyersville Police Department and the Crestview Police Department.  Also, a special thanks to his Florida friends, Daniel Goerdt, Eddie and Maeson Piper Helms (and their son Jack)  and Olivia Stewert.  They were there for him when his family couldn’t be.

Memorials may be sent to Beckman Catholic High School, St Francis Xavier Grade School, St Francis Xavier Basilica or to the family.

Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville is assisting the family and information is available at www.kramerfuneral.com.  Memorials may be sent to the family, (in care of Kramer Funeral Home) 750 12th Ave SW, Dyersville, IA  52040.
