Bernice has a special place in my heart. A caring and giving person that others can look up to. She was helpful when I needed to complete a volunteer project and she invited me to help her at the food pantry. I really enjoyed spending time with her and helping others.

Sending our condolences to the Thole family. Bernice was a very kind and caring person. We appreciated her hospitality and the time spent with her when we attended the annual toy show.

Dear members of the family of Bernice Thole, As we gather to bid a fond farewell to a pillar of our community, we can't help but smile because Bernice was always smiling no matter where you encountered her on her pathway of life. Shortly after we arrived in Dyersville, in 1987, I was introduced to Berniece as a dedicated volunteer for the food pantry. We bonded together as friends and helpers for many years. When Berniece was running short of toys to help out at the pantry she would call me and we'd load up her car. Whatever needs she experienced, she would check in with me and if I could, would lend a helping hand. Berniece had a work ethic that could serve as a motto for all of us. She was kind, articulate, and generous with her time. She lived her faith by the way she worked so diligently for her family, church, and community. She was on call 24-7 during her tenure at the Food Pantry. Oh we had fun together laughing and telling stories. We actually giggled when she would be at the library trying to show me how to quilt a blanket. I had two left thumbs and for the Love of God, could not keep the thimble on my finger which led to being disqualified as a quilter because Bernice wanted no blood specks on the quilts. To each one of you children, spouses, grand and great-grandchildren and spouses, I express my sincere sympathy to you and ask Almighty God to grant you countless blessings on behalf of your dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a special bloom while on earth and now she rests in peace among the white heavenly lilies as she truly celebrates Easter Joy. I bid you a fond farewell, Bernice. Miriam Eick

You all have our deepest sympathy! We pray for peace in your hearts, Comfort for your sorrow & Love to get you through this difficult time! A little Hug- When ever you are feeling sad and things aren't going right And your usual happy smile has slipped out of sight- Here's A little Hug from us if we cannot be there- Because we want you to know just how much we care! We said a Prayer For You Today and know God must have heard. We felt the answer in our heart, although he spoke no word! We didn't ask for wealth or fame, we knew you wouldn't mind. We asked him to send treasures, of a far more lasting kind! We asked that He be near you, at the start of each new day; to grant you health and blessings and friends to share your way! We asked for happiness for you, in all things great and small. But it was for His loving care, we prayed the most of all. Take Care!

Remembering Mom
Many loving memories of our Mother and (Father)will live in our hearts forever. Her love for Family is fore front in our memory, being there for us when we needed advice, in good times and challenging times. Mom is remembered most for her amazing wedding cakes. Growing up we would help her with that and have good conversations about life, while teaching Nancy and I her skills. Moms dedication to Family, Church and Community was what she cherished in her almost 96 years of life. Our memories and Love for you Mom (and Dad) will be with us, and we will treasure forever. We miss you and love you. Rest in Peace our Sweet Mother...
