Eileen was born on May 17, 1933 in Luxemburg, Iowa, the daughter of Clemens and Crescentia (Thillen) Singsank. She married Alver Dingbaum on April 20, 1954 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Luxemburg, Iowa. The Cornhuskers band played at their reception in New Vienna. They settled in Dyersville and to this union, four children completed their family.
Eileen was the youngest of nine siblings. She received her education from Country Schools, having told many stories of the horse and buggy days going to school. She loved Polka, Lawrence Welk ,and big band music. She met the love of her life, Alver Dingbaum, at a dance.
She was a waitress for many years at the Ritz Restaurant in Dyersville. She was a co-owner of Dingbaum Upholstery Shop with her husband. After her husbands death in 2006, she continued to be independent and lived in her own residence until her passing. She was sharp as a tack, even for her 90 years. She loved to visit, plant flowers, play cards, embroider, and have coffee at the local McDonalds.
She kept her faith, always having a rosary, and prayer book in hand. She is now at peace with the Lord.
Those left to cherish her memories are her four children: Sandy (Jerry) Nickol of Dyersville, Leon Dingbaum of Iowa City, Connie DeShaw of Worthington, Karol Hoeger of Dyersville; 11 grandchildren: Ben Cosgrove (friend, Kim), Lara (Alex) Fowler, Tony (Chelsey) Dingbaum, Chrissy (Jerad) Block, John Dingbaum, Ange (Ben) Pickering, Abby (Dave) Besler, Ryan (Jenn) DeShaw, Jessica (Marc) Botts, Michaela (friend, Alex), Cassie Hoeger, and 15 great-grandchildren, Allegra, Madeline, Lydia, Maria, Charlie, Melrose, Cohen, Ashten, Ayda, Brynlee, Nova, Fallyn, Jett, Zech, Jillian; two step-granddaughters, Terese (Ted) Kruse and Lila (Brian) Kane, and four step-great-grandchildren, Maria, Luke, Theo, Micah; sister-in-law, Rita (Jack) Garside; and many nieces and nephews.
