So sorry for your family’s loss. I had helped my dad at your farm the spring/summer (1983?) after my dad retired from farming. Bob was kind and patient.

To the Family of Robert Brown - We (Jim & Mary Lou Busta) extend the very best to you at this time of your loss. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We have known Bob & Janet/Family for many years going back to 1978. Bob served on the Ed-Co Public School Board of Education when I (Jim) was the Jr-Sr High School Principal from 1978-1985. As noted in Bob's obituary, he was a very dedicated public servant. We visited Bob & Janet many times at their family farm home, at St. Olaf Church functions, and at school and community events. We also visited with them numerous times when we were in Arizona....seems we were always invited to their winter snowbird home for a visit, a meal, and a beverage. I usually had my concertina with and played a few songs for the Browns and their Arizona neighbors. Bob's obituary picture, with that warm smile, is the way I/we will always remember Bob - what a kind and caring man. That smile would become even greater when we might talke about Bob/Janet's family, their extensive travels, and their passion the the Iowa State Cyclones. We are also providing a photo of a keepsake treasure (the carved/multi-wood cross) that Bob made and gave to us. The cross has been on our dining room wall ever since. We remind and encourage the family to keep dear in your hearts your memories of Robert "Bob" Brown. You and Janet lived live to the fullest and I am sure it is hard for Janet to think of life without you but she is strong and will keep on keeping on and holding the family together. No regrets except it could have been longer! Lori’s mother-in-law will be buried in Sac City on the same day so I won’t be able to attend the funeral but will be thinking of you!

We met in AZ as snow birds so many fun memories we loved their friendship, Bob made beautiful wood pieces and Janet painted one one a kind china. I got to hear his voice on a cell call with Janet few days ago! Beth drove them here to Fairbury IL for a fun visit. I know he was tried and hard work all behind him but leaves a large whole in our hearts,God Bless.
