Obituary of Dave G. Hoefler
DYERSVILLE, IOWA
David G. “Dave” Hoefler, was born on September 21, 1945, in New Vienna, Iowa. The youngest son of John and Lucille (Huegelmann) Hoefler.
Dave married Joyce in New Vienna on May 24, 1982. He enjoyed spending time on the farm, especially with his nephews. He had a passion for Massey Ferguson tractors, along with cars. “Speedy” especially enjoyed fast and curvy roads in his Plymouth.
Dave passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Joyce; and his children: Bill, Stacy, and Aimee (Jeremy); grandchildren: Kelsey Hoefler-Merfeld, Jacob and Benjamin Lepsch; siblings: Clem (Joanie) Hoefler of New Vienna, Germaine Schilling of Zwingle, Eileen (Jim) Simon of Farley; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen of Lamont; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Donna; siblings: Mary Ann (Al) Geers, Arnold Hoefler, and John Hoefler.
Visitation will be held from 2 - 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville. Visitation will continue at 9 – 10 a.m. prior to funeral mass.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 11, 2023, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in New Vienna with burial at St. Francis Cemetery in Dyersville. Rev. Philip Agyei will officiate with Rev. Carl Ries concelebrating.
