Marie, Chris, Paul, and the entire Reiter family, I am sorry for your loss. Lila was wonderful person who treated me like a grandson (one could argue I was after the twelve hour trip to Colorado we had!) We were lucky to have known her. You are in our thoughts during this difficult time.

My sweet lilanator. She was such a kind soul and made all of us smile. Her crafty ways when it came to her yarn snowman ornament or her plastic bag hat were always loved. I still put the ornament she made me on my tree every year.

Dear Family of Lila,
Our communities are saying farewell to a wonderful woman. Lila was a faithful volunteer several years ago at the James Kennedy Public Library. I always remember her warm greeting each day as I also went in to volunteer. She taught me a new word that I use all the time now. "Lovie" She always had a term of endearment. Honey, was also among her choices. Sometimes I would help our librarian to gather books to be delivered to her home to read. She will be missed for sure. As all of you walk in the valley of darkness, I extend to you my prayers and thoughts. When I go to Mass this evening, I will be lighting a candle in her memory because like the bright light of a candle, Lila was a bright light to all her met her and got to know her. Extending sincere sympathy to each of you as you say farewell to your mother. May you rest in peace Lila. Sincerely meant Miriam Eick

My most cherished memory of our dear Lila will always be her warm smile that would light up any room she entered & immediately put everyone at ease. She had a way of "bringing you in" & making you feel welcome. She was so generous with her kindness & love, sharing it with so many. Over the years she adapted a number of us "stray cats" sharing with us her heartfelt, endearing love & generosity. In doing so she has always been a special mother figure to me. Even while enduring the stress & stains life threw in her direction, she would always manage a smile & kind word, expressing genuine concern for who ever was in her path! Now when I think of her I sense her kind spirit, that I feel will always be with me, enveloping & surrounding me in her warm glow. My wish for you Lila is eternal peace & happiness with those you have loved & who mean so very much to you.
As a side note, I learned a while back that Lila's aunt was a nun, Sister Mary Lorenzo, who taught me in first & second grade at St. Peter's Temple Hill many, many years ago. That kind of blew my mind when she told me, as Sister Lorenzo was probably my favorite teacher, who made us little farm kids learn but also feel right at home in her tiny class room.
I could then certainly understand where Lila obtained her generous spirit & warm nature!
Love to you always Lila & thank you for sharing your life with me for so many years. It was a great honor to have you in my life & I will always cherish your beautiful memory!
