Obituary of Kenneth William Kluesner

Ken was born on June 22, 1945, in Dyersville, Iowa, the son of Fred and Mercedes (Lucas) Kluesner. He married Joanne Leick on September 30, 1972, in Dubuque, Iowa. Together they farmed near Worthington. Ken was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He had a passion for farming and raising and showing Brown Swiss Cattle. He was also an avid sports fan with a particular afinity for the Green Bay Packers. Survivors include his wife, Joanne, 3 children: Ryan (Sara) of Worthington, Jodi (Craig) Smith of Bondurant, IA, Kelly (Ryan) Mesplay of Strawberry Point, IA; 6 grandchildren: Luke and Haley Kluesner, Payton and Kylie Smith and Kyler and Savana Mesplay; 2 brothers: Gary (Ann) of Dubuque, IA, Kevin of Dyersville, IA; 1 brother-in-law: Jim (Patty) Leick of rural Cascade, IA He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Donald and a brother & sister in infancy. Friends may call from 3 - 9 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2010, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa where a parish scripture service will be held at 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 27, 2010, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Worthington, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Gross with Deacon Fred Pins assisting.
