To the family of Jude - I'm sorry that I only learned of Jude's passing from reading about him in the most recent Coe newsletter this past week (November 2023). I was a baseball teammate (2 years older) of Jude's at Coe and even tho we rarely saw or communicated over the past 40+ years I always knew him as a humble, strong, and kind guy. Never saw him play in high school but he was a superb college athlete. I am heartbroken over his loss and I pray you are all comforted by having shared in the life of this really great person. RIP to Jude

My condolences to Jude’s family and friends. My memories of Jude are strong and will never fade. At Beckman we all looked up to him like rockstar status as sports were huge during my time, and he was one of the faces of Beckman. Great personality, always friendly to all, and a stellar athlete in everything he did. Playing against him in adult bb league+softball, then watching him excel with the Whitehawks at same time are great memories. Gone too soon but never forgotten. Rip Jude.

I remember growing up and we'd go to the farm and he'd disappear not wanting to be bothered by "all those girls". Once we got older he'd joke he was the favorite uncle. He didn't realize he actually was. I was so fortunate to have the opportunity to work for him. What better way to get to know him. Such a kind and humble man. Nanny always said he was so much like his father. Such a patient man, taking time to explain things to clients. Always honest and fair. Defending the girls in the office from harassing clients. We loved the stories he would tell us about his times with the ghost players and his childhood and high school exploits. Family came first and he was a wonderful husband, father, and grampie. And he loved that farm and Dyersville. We will miss you Jude. You were called way too soon. We will find comfort that you are with Grampa, Nanny, Mom, Roger, and Mel again. Try to stay out of mischief with Jayme until the rest of us get there!

Jude, I'm really going to miss you my brother man! You were a truly wonderful friend, I have so many great experiences throughout our lives. You once told me, that you would want me in your fox hole, and I said that I certainly felt the same way. We both stood up in each other's wedding, and here is a photograph of the handsome man!.

I am so sorry for the tremendous loss of such a wonderful member of our community. Jude made a big impact on many kids who were battling cancer or in remission, at the Field of Dreams last September. We will be sure to honor his memory as we continue to raise awareness and fight for a cure for cancer. Much love and support to Jude’s family and friends.

My sincerest condolences to Lisa and all of Jude's family.
Jude was the first classmate I met, long before we were even in school. I remember going with my grandparents to his house where grandma and grandpa would play cards with his parents. When a little older we would play hide and seek with his nieces. Always a pleasure to see over the years since then.
I hope the family can find comfort in these difficult times.
My thoughts are with you. Angie Freitager Jeffcoat

Lisa and the entire Milbert family:
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Jude was kind, passionate, caring and always had time to listen or share a story. I knew him as a Kohawk and a Hawkeye - and I am not sure there was a better one! His legacy will live on forever!

Lisa and family,
My sympathies to you at this very tough time. I last saw you and Jude this past August at our mini-class reunion, and it was a wonderful day. So sorry to hear Jude that had been ill. My strongest memory of Jude is from high school, when we played football. Despite my being a persistent bench warmer, Jude was a true leader, encouraging me and treating me with respect as a teammate. It always meant a lot to me. Godspeed Jude.

I first met Jude at a Coe Alumni golf outing about 20 years ago. I immediately liked him and started using him as my tax preparer shortly there after. He always would talk about his family and was very proud of his girls. I could tell how much he loved them. My condolences to his entire family. R.I.P. Jude Milbert. You will be missed………..Dwight Kuster- Cedar Rapids
