DYERSVILLE, IOWA
Cecilia A. “Ceil” Lueck, 84 of Dyersville, Iowa passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Hawkeye Care Center in Asbury, Iowa.
Visitation will be held from 2 - 8 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2023 at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville. Dyersville Fire Department will be attending at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue at Kramer Funeral Home from 9 - 10 a.m. prior to funeral mass.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Chris Podhajsky will officiate while Rev. Tom McDermott will concelebrate.
Ceil was born on June 9, 1938 in Petersburg , Iowa, the daughter of Anselm and Henrietta (Deppe) Reinert. She married Donald A. Lueck on August 27, 1960 in SS. Peter and Paul Church in Petersburg, IA.
She attended SS. Peter and Paul School in Petersburg and graduated from St. Boniface High School in New Vienna in 1957. After graduation, she worked as a legal secretary for Tom Jenk Sr. for several years. She also worked part time for 20 years at St. Francis Xavier Hot Lunch in Dyersville.
She was a member of the Dyersville Hospital Auxiliary and New Vienna Heritage House. She was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed camping with her husband and going to Branson, MO to listen to Country Music shows. She loved playing the piano, sewing, crocheting, puzzles, dancing and spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Don, children:Kathy (Carl) Wessels, Dan (Lynne) Lueck, Jim (Mary Kay) Lueck, Judy Link, all of Dyersville, Tom (Gerrie) Lueck of Cedar Rapids, Ken (Lynn) Lueck of Fairfax, Chuck (Lynn) Lueck, Tim (Amy) Lueck, and Kevin Lueck, all of Dyersville, 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, two sisters, Margaret (Bernard) Monaghan of Manchester, Agnes (John) Coakley of Kansas City, KS, in-laws, Verna Fangman of Dyersville, Maureen Delaney of Williamsville, NY, Marvin (Linda) Lueck, of Fort Worth, TX,. and Ann Reinert of Dyersville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, John and Marguerite Lueck, brothers-in-law, Clarence Fangman, Merle (Connie) Lueck, and Bill Delaney, sisters-in-law, Mary Reinert, siblings: Mary Ann Reinert in infancy, Alfred Reinert, Francis Reinert, and a son-in-law, Jim Link.
