Obituary of Ernest Lee Osterkamp
ANAMOSA, IOWA
Ernest L. Osterkamp, 70, of Anamosa died Friday, March 10, 2023, at home after an extended battle with cancer.
Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 pm Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello.
A funeral service will be held at 10 am Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello. Pastor Wade Reddy will officiate. Burial will be at the Norwich Cemetery in Martelle. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Ernie was born March 27, 1952, the son of Henry and Evelyn (Etten) Osterkamp in Anamosa. He graduated from Anamosa High School with the Class of 1970. He met Jerrie Warthen and they eventually married on September 11, 1999. He worked for Brokaw Surge, and worked in the refrigeration industry, retiring from Hussmann – Taylor Industries. In his spare time he loved to acquire and work on antique cars, including his ‘55 Chevy and his ’30 Chevy Coupe.
He is survived by his wife, Jerrie, his daughter, Tara (Brian) Dietiker of Anamosa, grandchildren, Rylan and Ashlyn, siblings: Sharon Fell of Anamosa, Patricia (Dean) Yousse of Scotch Grove, Pam Osterkamp of Cedar Rapids, Marilyn (Dale) Christiansen, Debbie Osterkamp and Connie (Randy) Ehlers, all of Anamosa; in-laws: Amanda Osterkamp, Marilyn Warthen, Judy (Dale) Walker, Jean (Keith “Slim”) Schlimmer, all of Anamosa, DeWayne (Pam) Warthen of Martelle, Janet (Dick) Lynott of Hiawatha, Janice (Bob) Richmond of Springville and Allan Warthen of Monticello, and many nieces and nephews.
Ernie is preceded in death by his parents, his parents-in-law, Wray and Gladys Warthen, his brother, Larry Osterkamp, in-laws, Joy (Tim) Merfeld, Ron Warthen, Joyce and JoAnne Warthen, and step-father, John Stimpson.
