Obituary of Jerome Dean Redmond
MONTICELLO, IOWA
Jerome D. "Jan" Redmond, 88, of Marshalltown and formerly of Monticello passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.
Jerome has been cremated and burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Monticello on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 10:30 am with military honors..
Jerome was born on August 28, 1934, in Hopkinton, Iowa, the son of Vincent and Ruth (Lewis) Redmond. He enlisted in the US Air Force, serving twenty years, earning the rank of Master Sargent as an Avionics Superintendent.
He was known for despising slammed screen doors, and for his love of fishing and reading. His family loved his special homemade Holiday fudge.
Survivors include two brothers: Michael (Marion) Redmond of Monticello and Gari Redmond of Cedar Rapids, a sister-in-law, Dorothy Redmond of Marina, AZ, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Jeanne Harr, Elizabeth Picray and Shirley Redmond; brothers: William Redmond and Ralph Redmond.
