Obituary of William Earl Freeman

MONTICELLO, IOWA William Freeman, 75, of Monticello, Iowa died Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at his home in Monticello, Iowa, after a courageous battle with cancer. A private family visitation and funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Kramer Funeral Home, Monticello, Iowa with burial in Oakwood cemetery, Monticello, Iowa. Bill was born on August 14, 1934 in Newtoville, Alabama, the son of Dalton and Dorothy Cole Freeman. He married Marjorie Behrends on August 22, 1973 in Orange County, CA. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie of Monticello, 3 daughters, Lisa (Clem) Prime of Monticello, Janet (Richard) O'Grady of CA, Joan (James) Berends of Monticello and William Karr of CA. 6 grandchildren, Regan, Baxter, Brian, Carrie, Brandon and Adam. 2 brothers Jim Freeman of Cedar Rapids IA and Douglas Clark of Ohio. 1 sister Louise Stripling of Alabama. Bill was an avid artist who loved to paint, he often did self portraits. He loved being outside and became an accomplished landscape architect owning his own business. Bill loved to play the guitar and was a die hard Elvis fan. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Betty Memorials are preferred in Bill's memory.
