MONTICELLO, IOWA

 

June M. Aschtgen, 95, of Pearl City, IL and formerly of Monticello, IA, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022, at her home in Pearl City, IL, surrounded by her family.

 

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2022, in Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL.

 

Visitation will be held from12:30 – 1:30 p.m., Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello.

 

Funeral Services will commence at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Kramer Funeral Home with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello, IA.

 

June was born August 24, 1927, in Monticello, IA, the daughter of Elmer and Loretta (Costley) Brokaw.  Married William “Bill” Aschtgen on February 23, 1946, in Monticello.

 

June was known as a wonderful cook. She showered her family with love through cooking. June loved to cook family dinners, bake pies, and make her famous potato salad.

 

Survivors include her daughters, Kathryn Dorsey and Jane (Rodney) Bowen, all of Rockford, IL, Donna (James) Howard of Pearl City, and Lori (Mike Tezak) Lassard of Duluth, MN; 12 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; siblings; infant son, Alan Aschtgen; son, William Dale Geordt; grandson, Kenneth Geordt; granddaughter, Cynthia Hillis Howard; great-granddaughter, Raegan Peacock; and great-great-grandson, Bentley Cohee.
