Obituary of Scott Phillip Wulfekuhle

Scott P. Wulfekuhle, 27, of Petersburg, Iowa passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and loved ones on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at Regional Medical Center, Manchester, Iowa after a long battle with Glioblastoma (brain tumor). Friends may call from 2:00 - 9:00 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2010, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa where a parish scripture service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 17, 2010, at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Petersburg, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. John O'Connor and Rev. Phil Kruse will concelebrate. Scott was born on October 15, 1982, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Ernest and JoAnn (Cavagna) Wulfekuhle. Scott graduated from Beckman High School with the class of 2001 and from Kirkwood Community College with an Associate of Science in Swine Management in 2003. He married Lila Nickol on August 11, 2007, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville. Scott enjoyed working on the farm with his family and attending Iowa State Football games. He also enjoyed a variety of motorsports, especially motorcycle riding, and playing with his two dogs, Chico and Izzy. Survivors include his wife, Lila, his parents: Ernest & JoAnn Wulfekuhle of Dyersville, 3 siblings: Kim Baumler of Dyersville, Craig (Karen) Wulfekuhle of Petersburg, Kari (Korey) Stillman of Marion, IA, father-in-law, Gerald (Sandy) Nickol of Dyersville, sister-in-law, Terese (Ted) Kruse of Dyersville, and several nieces and nephews, maternal grandmother, Amalia (John) Pienovi of Milwaukie, OR, grandfather-in-law, Marvin (Rosemary) Nickol of Dyersville and grandfather-in-law, Anselm Willenborg of Dyersville, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gregory & Cecelia Wulfekuhle and Joe Cavagna, an uncle, John Cavagna, his mother-in-law, Glenda Nickol. Memorials are preferred to Beckman High School. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Comfort, especially to Lynn and Marge, for their help and compassion.
