Sandy and I spent the summer of 1983 hitchhiking the western states. We had so much fun. We started in Phoenix Arizona and hitched a ride to LA. Spent a few days with my family there then headed back towards Colorado. We made it to Colorado then turned around and headed back to Phoenix. While in route we passed through Utah then over to Las Vegas where we were catching a ride with a couple of truckers. We spent the day at a truck stop with them waiting for time to pass. When it came time to leave, the drivers stopped just before leaving the driveway and told us to get out. When we asked why he told us we were really good people and he decided we needed to get out because his intentions were to sell us to some friend of his in the desert. What a memory. We had some wild times but never a bad memory. I loved that lady.
Our hearts go out to Sandy's family. We'll always cherish the memories, laughs and good times we had together through the years.
Rest in Peace my friend. We will surely miss you.
