I have known DJ since our Loras days as we took some classes together. Ironically, I found out of his passing a minute ago as I read the TH. As I write, DJ's life is being celebrated at Holy Cross in the church he loved. In these past years we have shared conversations at numerous Right to Life events. His great passion and love for Life and those around him was inspirational. My thoughts and prayers are with all those who love DJ, especially to Dale and Tom. Katie and I will be making a donation to Dubuque County Right to Life in DJ's name. God Bless All of You, John McGuire

I met DJ thru his friend Karen Kilburg, he always had a great sense of humor. He was a colts fan like me and he loved his Atlanta Braves. That paled in comparison to his love of Christ . He was a man of deep faith. He will be missed here my sympathies to his other friends and family. Tim Fox

My sympathy to the Jaeger family in DJ’s passing. I met DJ through several great friends from Loras College In 1968. I lost contact with him over the years, but finally reconnected in 2019 during an Ahlers family reunion (my mom’s side) in New Vienna. As everyone knows – once you met DJ you never forgot him. I found out he was working at the Ungs Shopping Center, wherein, I stopped to see him. The nice folks at Ungs’ told me he had retired, but they provided me with his phone number and address (only happens in the Midwest), which was much appreciated. I called DJ several times over the last couple of years and totally enjoyed our discussions! DJ was an inspiration to all of us – his wit; his intelligence; his courage; his love of life; and his faith! I’ll also never forget his greeting (a “term of endearment”) that I’m certain everyone knows. I thank God every day that I knew DJ!

DJ was a friend to almost everyone he met. It only took a minute talking to him to realize what a wonderful man he was.
DJ had such incredible Faith. He loved our God, and I can only imagine the beautiful welcome when he saw Jesus for the first time.
Sing with the Angels, my friend.

My family and I met dj by accident when buying tickets to spirit fest here in Minnesota. My wife accidentally hit his email mixed up with the head guy for the festival. We got to talking to dj and found out he was going to be there we set up a time to meet him there and got to know him. I had the privilege of showing him the start of the Mississippi river. We were able to take a trip to see him in 2002.
Dj was a great guy with a heart of gold. I am blessed to have spent time with him.
My prayers go out to the family.
Rest in peace dj.
