MONTICELLO, IOWA Christina M. Bertling, 76, of Apple Valley Mn. Formerly of Monticello, Ia. died Friday, June 11, 2010 at N.C. Little Memorial Hospice Center, Edina Mn. after a sudden illness. Friends may call from 3 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello, where a parish scripture service will be held at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1030 a.m. Wednesday June 16, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello, with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Keith Birch. Christina is survived by 3 daughters: Kathy (Tim) Sartori of Leonardtown, Md., Charlotte (John) Bertling-Erland of Maple Grove, Mn. and Anna (John) Beadle of Apple Valley, Mn. 6 sons: Leo (Caroline) of Marion, Ia., Mark (Maribeth) of Britt, Ia., Jim (Molly) of Mt. Vernon, Ia., Frank (Angie) of Wasilla, Alaska, Pete (Lori) and Ron (Angie) of Monticello, Ia She is also survived by many grandchildren, sister Phyllis Manternach and brothers, Norbert, Dan, Dave and Jerry Manternach. She was preceded in death by .her husband Donald and one son Eugene Christina was born on September 18, 1933 in Monticello, the daughter of Norbert and Catherine Muller Manternach. She married Donald S. Bertling on November 6 1954 in, Monticello. Christina was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend with a profound love of God, quilting and flowers.
