I remember so well the weekends in the fall of 1975 when Dwayne and Josie would allow my 5 year old daughter and I to stay with their family in the office of the old feather duster factory they lived in while they were building up their business. I was going through a very painful divorce and had custody of my precious daughter Nora. It was such a relief to be able to get out of Iowa City and have a quiet weekend with their family.
We all had bunk beds in what was once an office. The cook stove was the top burner section of my mothers stove she sent to us from New Jersey when they re-did their kitchen. Josie prepared the most wonderful meals and served them with much love. The kids had the entire factory to play in.
When it was time to go to bed, we all got into our bunk beds and after prayers, we took turns saying "Good Night John boy" like in the TV program The Wantons. Nora and I felt so blessed to be a part of the Bollwitt family. Dwayne and his son Mike helped design many projects for my company in Iowa City. Mike wasn't even 17 years old and he was programming a "Data Highway" software interface for our equipment and the Allen Bradley computer system Sheller Globe Corp used to monitor over 20 production lines.
I am so honored to have known Josie and the family she raised. I know she is sleeping in the arms of Jesus and look so forward to seeing her when He brings us all home. Thank you Josie for your friendship and being such an incredible wife to Dwayne and mother to your children - Roger Titone
