I've known Al since 1980; he was friends with Ronnie Timmerman and later through Jr. Elliott. He had turned his life around.
Granted, he didn't have a smooth move in his transition; but he kept on plugging away. His life became more challenging when he had the biking accident on Kaufman Avenue but he worked diligently in achieving his strength mentally and physically to the best of his ability. He worked hard in attempting to clean up the wreckage of his past. Some were willing to accept his attempt and some were not. That's everyone's choice. Al, God knows your heart and loves you for it. I regret I will not be there to journey your
remains to the plot you chose, but I will sit on your bench and recall fond memories such as the delight you had in eating the cakes on your Sobriety Anniversaries. You so enjoyed the times you attended Masses over at the Presentation Convent and
visiting with Sr. Delores, and phone calls with Jr. were never dull. God Bless You Trusted Servant,
Respectfully, Mary Callahan Elliott
