Emily, Just read in the Commercial that Joan had passed away. May God rest her soul. You and your entire family have ou deepest sympathy. We certainly remember living next door to your family when we moved to Dyersville. Emily, we know also that Joan lived you for many years and certainly enjoyed and appreciated your kindness and caring attitude. Our prayers are with you. Louie and Betty Heims.

Joan showed all of us how to live thru adversity. The 11 years I worked at the Corner Drug store brings back memories of her wheeling in with her dog in her lap and Emily holding the door open. No negativity ever from the 3 of them--big smiles and good conversation. You all were members of the MA and Pa Kettle family of Dyersville. Best wishes Bob Sack R.Ph.

Emily and the entire Bartels family, I was always inspired by Joan, following in her footsteps at Home Appliance, being Blessed to bring her communion in her home after I was Ordained a Deacon. My visits with her were always enjoyable, lighthearted, and she would leave me with words of wisdom. She will be "dancing" with the angels and saints in our heavenly homeland. The dwelling place that the Lord has made for her will be as clean as a whistle, and she won't have to do the cleaning. Joan has certainly made an impact on me and I will be forever great full for her and our Savior in my life. May she rest in peace. God's Love and peace forever. Deacon Roger Riesberg,
