Catherine A. Westhoff, 90, of Dyersville, Iowa passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019, at MercyOne Senior Care, Dyersville .
Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2019, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville. Visitation will continue at the funeral home from 9-10 a.m. Monday, December 30th prior to funeral services.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 30, 2019 at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Tyler Raymond will officiate.
Catherine was born December 30, 1928, in Colesburg, the daughter of Arnold and Marie (Lansing) Weber. She married Roland H. Westhoff on February 9, 1948 in Colesburg. Together they farmed north of Manchester for eight years before moving to Dyersville where they farmed until retirement in 1982.
Catherine’s faith and devotion to Mother Mary sustained her. She was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed farming, gardening, quilting and baking. The bread she made will long be remembered. She had long lasting friendships which she cherished. The time she spent with her grandchildren have created touching memories and entertaining stories that will be passed down for generations.
Survivors include her 4 daughters: Anne (Ken) Recker of Ames, Janice Denny-Fisher of Ft. Meyers, FL, Mary Beth (Duane) Thole of Dyersville, and Susan (Craig) Recker of New Vienna, 3 sons: Philip (Monica) of Dyersville, Joseph (Barbara) of Celina, TX. and Thomas (Teresa) of Dyersville, 23 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren, siblings: Joan (Ray) Nurre of Dyersville, Connie Weber of Dyersville, Jim (Mary) Weber of Cedar Rapids, John (Deb) Weber of Longmont, CO, in-laws: Betty Weber of Holy Cross, Dick Haupert of Dubuque.
She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, Herman and Elizabeth Westhoff, her husband, Roland in 2007, siblings: Alice Nurre, Donna Kruse, Joe Weber, Angeline Haupert, in-laws: Monica Steffensmeier, Marie Wilhelm, Josephine Westhoff, Delores Lahr-Manternach, Frances Besler, Rosella Wegmann, Leona Koelker, Edmund, Lawrence, Aloysius, Hubert, William, Ambrose, and Leo Westhoff.
In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be directed to St. Francis Xavier and Beckman Schools.
