MONTICELLO, IOWA Catherine "Katie" C. Ridenour, 94, of Monticello, Iowa died Friday, November 5, 2010 at Shady Rest Care Center, Cascade, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello, Iowa where a parish scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday November 8, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Keith Birch. Survivors include her children: Lyle J. (Carol) and Jerry (Joyce) both of Marion, Tom (Juanita) of Coralville, Mary Kay Lehman (Joe) of Cascade, 11 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, many great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, a brother, Jim (Bea) Gross of Larryth, Montana, sisters -in-law: Lois Gross of Dubuque, Velma Yeldon of Dundee and Katie Ridenour of Waterloo Katie was born on April 9, 1916 in Cascade, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Hosch) Gross. She married Lyle E. Ridenour on February 4, 1937 in Cascade, Iowa. Katie worked at John McDonald Hospital for 23 years as a Nurse's Aide and was also a seamstress. She was a member of the VFW auxiliary, study club and ACCW. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lyle in 2000, 2 sisters: Viola Watson and Mary Margaret Emerson and 4 brothers: Ray, Paul, Bill and Robert Gross.
