Roland "Butch" Steiner, 67, of Monticello, Iowa died Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Jones County Regional Medical Center, Anamosa, Iowa after a five year illness Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday November 20, 2010 at Kramer Funeral Home, Monticello, Iowa. Cremation has been accorded per Roland's request. Officiating will be Rev. Ed Moreano Roland is survived by his wife Bev, two sons, Troy of Lisbon and Travis (Emma) of Monticello, one daughter, Heidi (Eric Ahrendsen) of Marion, six grandchildren, Tori and Eli Steiner, Devin and Cheyanne Ahrendsen and Dakota and Wyatt Steiner, two sisters, Marge Chapman of Manchester and Linda (Bob) Burns of Monticello, a special friend, Bill Pazour, mother in law, June Walker, brother in law, Terry (Doris) Walker, sisters in law, Shirley (John) Folken, Deb (Ed) Lathrop and Nancy Walker. Roland is preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, Margaret Jean and granddaughter Ashley Steiner. Roland was born on May 29 1943 in Monticello, Iowa, the son of Gilbert and Margaret Schilt Steiner. Butch graduated from Monticello High School and then was drafted into the Army serving a tour in Vietnam. He married Beverly Walker on September 13, 1968 in, Springville, Iowa. Roland was a hard worker who was employed by K&P garage of Monticello, Volkswagen of Cedar Rapids and Quaker Oats of Cedar Rapids. Roland enjoyed, hunting, fishing, working outside and he built three new homes, but most of all he enjoyed his grandchildren and his many dogs.
