Obituary of Margaret Ann Rausch

Margaret A. Rausch, 82, of Dyersville, Iowa and formerly of Luxemburg, Iowa, died Friday, December 17, 2010, at Oak Park Place, Dubuque, Iowa. Friends may call from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa where a parish scripture service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, Iowa. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Gross. Burial will be at the Holy Trinity Cemetery in Luxemburg. Margaret was born on April 16, 1928, in New Vienna, Iowa, the daughter of Albin and Helena (Bruggemann) Koopmann. She married Urban J. Rausch on September 14, 1949, in New Vienna, Iowa. He preceded his wife in death on December 18, 1983. Margaret waited almost 27 years, to the day, to see her loving husband once again. Margaret's life was dedicated to her faith, family and home. In later years, besides spending time with her grandchildren, she enjoyed sewing quilts. For 20 years she contributed her sewing skills to the Dyersville Layette Group that prepares layettes for the less fortunate. Other volunteer work included helping clean the church. Survivors include her children: Don (Jayne) Rausch of Dubuque, IA, Nancy (Scott) Youngbauer of Park View, IA, Loran (Sue) Rausch of Luxemburg, IA, Carol Hannan of Rickardsville, IA; Grandchildren: Jim (Danielle) Friedman, Elizabeth (Adam Slade) and Michael Rausch, Joe (Shawna) Youngbauer, Katie Youngbauer, Megan (fiancé Chris McAllister) Rausch, Adam Rausch, Emily, Ben, and Cassie Hannan, great-grandchild, Jack Rausch-Slade, siblings: Sr. Helen Koopmann, F.S.P.A. of LaCrosse, WI, Hildegarde Lueck of Dyersville, IA, Mary Rausch of Dubuque, IA, sisters-in-law: Mary Koopmann of Garnavillo, IA and Cecelia Hoeger of Dyersville, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Urban, a son-in-law, Pat Hannan, siblings: Rose, Edmund, Raymond, Herb, Cletus, Alfred "Fritz" Koopmann, Alvina Deutmeyer, and several brothers-and-sisters-in-law. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Oak Park Place and Hospice of Dubuque for the loving care they provided to Margaret. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Dubuque.
