MONTICELLO, IOWA John E. Prull, 75, of Monticello found lasting rest early Saturday morning, January 15, 2011, at St. Luke's Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 3 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at the Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello where a Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 4pm and a parish scripture service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Keith Birch will officiate. He is survived by his wife, Jean, 8 children: Janet (Mitch) Pickering of Marion, IA, Teresa (Dan) Finley of Norway, IA, Mary Jean (Mike) Ohlhauser of Cedar Rapids, IA, Joanne (John) Timm of Monticello, IA, Steve (Crissy) Prull of Alexandria, MN, Rick (Michelle) Prull of Maquoketa, IA, Mike (Kim) Prull of Fairfax, IA and Karen (Dan) Bruns of Cedar Rapids, IA; 23 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; a brother, Harry (Betty) Prull of Monticello, IA and a sister, June Wagner of Dubuque, IA, a sister-in-law, Sophie Prull of Center Junction, IA, a brother-in-law, Mike Biehl of San Francisco, CA, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his parents-in-law, Joe and Sylvia Biehl, siblings: Winifred (Aloysius) Heims, Donald (Mary) Prull, Richard Prull, Jimmy Joe Prull and Helen Prull; and a granddaughter, Danielle Finley. John was born Oct. 14, 1935 in Monticello, Iowa the son of Henry and Frances (Seery) Prull. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School with the class of 1953. He joined the US National Guard in 1957 and trained until 1965. John was united in marriage to Jean Biehl on May 31, 1961 in Masonville, Iowa. Together they worked and raised eight children on their family farm near Monticello until retiring in 1998. John was a president of the Eastern Iowa Coalition for Decency, was a member of Sacred Heart Prayer Group since 1987, the Knights of Columbus Council 1821, and for 10 years he was a 4H leader. He was also a CEW leader for many years. John desired charitable donations to Camp Courageous of Iowa or the Monticello Ambulance Fund.
