Obituary of Grace A Leigh
Grace A. Leigh, 77, of Dyersville, Iowa passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Luther Manor Grand Meadows, Asbury, Iowa.
Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m., February 17, 2019, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville, Iowa where a parish vigil service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9-10 a.m. prior to funeral services.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., February 18, 2019 at Saint Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate and Deacon Roger Riesberg will assist.
Grace was born March 28, 1941 in Worthington, Iowa, the daughter of Ed and Rose (Pape) Kirsch. Grace married Robert E. Leigh on August 9, 1958, in Dyersville, Iowa, recently celebrating 60 years of marriage.
Grace enjoyed dancing, car cruises, her time each year in Texas, playing cards, tending to her massive flower garden at the farm, and spending time with her friends, family and grandkids. She always had a smile on her face, a kind and welcoming way, and an adventurous spirit.
Grace is survived by her husband, Robert, and 5 children: Alan (Janet Flynn) Leigh of Pacific Junction, IA, Jay (Laura) Leigh of Dubuque, Robert Leigh Jr. of Dubuque, Lisa (Claudio Solano) Leigh of Cabo San Lucas, MX, and Gina (Mike) Lukan of Marion. 6 grandchildren: Todd (Ashley) Leigh, Randi Leigh, Danny (Kayla) Taylor, Zach Taylor, and Olivia and Madilyn Lukan; 3 great grandchildren: Maxwell and Elliot Leigh, and Keegan Taylor; one brother, Fred (Jeanne) Kirsch of Golden Valley, MN; 2 nephews: Mike and Jon Kirsch; in-laws: Merle (Denise) Leigh of Osage Beach, MO, Carol Harrod of Omaha, NE, Janet Leigh-Orr of Dyersville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Rose Kirsch, one son, Daniel Leigh in 1990, parents-in-law: Harry and Clara (Oberbroeckling) Leigh; a step-father: Peter Graff; in-laws: James and Jerry Leigh, Sharon Leigh of Milford, and Jim Harrod.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Grand Meadows in Asbury and Hospice of Dubuque for their compassion and care. Also, a thank you to friends and family who have shared their support through food, flowers, cards, and prayers.
