Lucille was born on December 12, 1924, on the family farm near Earlville the daughter of Gregor and Mathilda (Billmeyer) Tegeler.  She married Irvin Overman on November 5, 1946, who preceded her in death in 2008.  She was a wonderful wife and loving mother fully dedicated to her family.  She was a great example of a traditional, hard-working and caring farm wife who loved working along-side her husband.  Her baking abilities were treasured by her family, especially her rolls, cinnamon rolls, and cookies.  She took pride in all she did.  She was proud to sing with the Resurrection Choir and a volunteer at church.

She and Irv loved to play cards and bingo, golf, dance, and travel, including visiting family and friends.  She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She loved music and singing along to any song, including her favorite, You Are My Sunshine. Lu had such a big, caring heart and a smile for everyone.

Survivors include her children: Don (Diane) Overman of Dyersville, Jim Overman of Lisbon, Wayne (Linda) Overman of Murfreesboro, TN, Dennis (Shari) Overman of Earlville, and Lori (Gary) Wessels of Dyersville, a special nephew, Larry (Sue) Bonert of Dubuque; 18 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; a sister, Bernice Holub of Prairieburg, a step-brother, Herb Tegeler of Dyersville, a step-sister, Mary Jean “Toots” (Henry “Hank”) Westhoff of New Vienna and in-laws: Bev Tegeler of Bellevue, Bob Fischel of Edgewood and Gladys Overman of Dyersville.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, Delores Deutmeyer, her husband Irvin, a daughter, Janice (in infancy), 2 grandchildren: John David and Mark Overman, 2 daughters-in-law, Suzanne and Beth “Bunny” Overman: siblings: Reynold (Irene), Gilbert (Sedella), Anthony (Dorothy), Elmer (Edna) Tegeler, Don (Patricia) Tegeler, Lucille (at birth), Helen (Wilfred) Kramer, Norma Platz Deppe (Herb Platz and Lawrence Deppe), Marcella (Fritz) Bries and Leona (August) Gudenkauf; in-laws: Doris Tegeler, Earl Holub, Emma (Lawrence) Bonert, Vincent (Julia), Aloysius, Edmund (Modesta) and Alfred Overman.
